Spyware Evolves!

 by: Joe Borges

The ability to detect spyware is becoming more and more important in today's world. Ditto for the use of spyware removal tools.

Did you know that recently a Trojan Horse program was developed and used for industrial espionage?

The Trojan Horse was used in the illegal hacking into scores of computers in Israel, including computers belonging to large and leading companies. The companies involved did not know how important it was to have a spyware removal tool or tools to detect spyware. The perpetrators developed spyware programs that extracted computer files and entire directories from infected computers. This material was then sent to servers abroad. The spyware was sold to private investigators, which offered their industrial espionage services to various companies.

In this case, the perpertrators (a husband and wife team!) were eventually caught and deported. But by that time, the damage had already been done. Those corporations that had been victimized already had their sensitive corporate secrets floating around in cyberspace and who knows where else! If they had known how to detect spyware, they might be much better off.

In another case, a routine Internet activity report that was run on a large company's computer users revealed that some computers were logging thousands of hits a day to the same IP address. The web site had nothing to do with the company, and the network administrator at first thought that employees were conducting their personal business on the internet or otherwise slacking off.

After rather intense investigation, and a routine check to detect spyware, it was revealed that spyware was tracking employees? computer usage habits and was sending the information back to a third party website automatically. This company used a combination of a spyware removal tool and restricting internet access to prevent this happening to them again.

Even in large corporate environments, spyware can cause tremendous damage - it can compromise data security Spyware and significantly slow down computer performance.

The lesson here is this: if spyware/malware can compromise even the most sophisticated business computer systems, then those of us who have small businesses and even more to lose can?t afford to take our internet security lightly!

One of the worst type of virus is one that effects the Boot Config, if this happens you will notice an error such as "Invalid boot sector" or "unaccessable boot device", there are many other errors for the same problem, if you don't get even a windows loading screen then your issue may be the Boot Config, sounds like a hard problem to fix don't it, infact its pretty easy. For this we shall need a Windows XP install CD, if your computer never come with one then please go down to where you paid for your PC and ask for one, insert the CD and then turn on your PC, you will get a text messege saying "To boot from CD press any key", so press anykey!, now wait for a few mintues untill...

Spyware - Removing Cancer From Your System

Do you know the difference between spyware prevention and spyware removal? These functions are not the same. Not all spyware is the same. Most work like a malignant cancer, spreading into everything, or a benign tumor, sticking around in one place. The main operations of spyware are to steal, search, destroy, report, expose, change or track. Many people find the main mission of spyware is to seek out trouble and to annoy. Some spyware happily stay in one spot doing its stuff while other spyware sneak into your computer and let you know they're around. Many anti-spyware programs are available for free upon your asking and are quite steady at stopping these cancerous cells. Still, to get the best protection, your computer should use multiple anti-spyware programs.

"Knock, knock," the thoughtful spyware announces. "Who's there?" your...

Spyware: The New Cancer

Spyware: The New Cancer

 by: Andrew Wroblewski

Just like cancer, a computer virus program, whether Trojan, adware, or spyware can be deemed as any executing program that can infect your computer by recreating a copy of itself onto your system.
Just like with cancerous cells in the human body, if not detected in time or found to be in the wrong place, any of these infectious programs can find themselves replicating and creating havoc throughout other parts of the machine.

When spyware was first discovered, just as was the case with cancer in the human body, it perplexed those who were infected by it because until something becomes known to the general public, there can be no reason for cure for that certain disease.
For example, there was no cure for polio until the vaccine was created by Dr. Salk, and there was no cure for Trojan horse programs until they were discovered to have caused mass havoc.
So if there is knowledge...

To detect key logger spyware, you need to know what it is and how it works. Key logger is an invisible software program that identity thieves can use to track your online activity.

It is almost impossible to detect key logger on your computer and even if you're careful you'll never know if it is recording information such as bank account passwords and credit card numbers.

You won't even see your machine slow down or see anything unusual. It just silently watches every keystroke you type in as if the identity thieves were standing over your shoulder.

At least on third of all online scams can now be traced to keylogging. If you type key logger into any Internet search engine you can find several perfectly legal ways to buy and install it.

Several businesses use key logger software to monitor employee activity and parents can use keylogging to check up on the web sites...
